How to play Sky Jump

Sky Jump is an endless arcade climber. Your hero is a small neon critter with one big eye and a glowing antenna. It bounces all by itself every time it lands on a platform. You only steer it left and right to reach the next platform above.

Goal

Climb as high as you can. Your score is the height you reach. A dashed gold line shows your best height, so you can see when you beat it.

Controls

1. On a computer, hold the left and right arrow keys (or A and D). You can also just move the mouse over the game: the critter follows the pointer.
2. On a phone, press and hold the left or right half of the game, or use the big arrow buttons under it.
3. Fly off one side of the screen and you come back on the other side.
4. Press Space or P to pause. The game also pauses when you switch tabs.

Platforms and friends

• Green platforms are solid. Blue ones slide from side to side.
• Orange cracked platforms break under you. You fall straight through them.
• Pink dashed clouds hold you once, then vanish.
• Yellow springs launch you much higher than a normal bounce.
• High up, grumpy spikers float around. Land on top of one to bounce off it for bonus points. Hit one from the side or below and the run is over.

End of the game

If you fall below the bottom of the screen, the run ends. The higher you get, the wider the gaps, and the more platforms move or break. Your best score is saved in this browser. Want another quick game? Try Sky Hop or Snake.

Strategy tips

• Steer early. Start moving toward the next platform while you are still going up. Waiting until you fall is often too late.
• Use the wrap. If the next platform is far to the right, going left through the edge can be shorter.
• Skip the cracked ones. Orange platforms never help you. Look past them for a solid green or blue one.
• Aim for springs. A spring gives a huge boost and skips several platforms. Land right on the coil.
• Mind the spikers. Never jump up into one. Wait for it to drift away, or come down on its head.
