Sky Hop
Tap to flap and fly through the gaps in the neon towers.
How to play Sky Hop
Sky Hop is a one-button arcade game. You guide Pip, a small glowing sky sprite, through an endless row of neon towers. Each tower has one gap. Fly through the gap to score a point. Touch a tower or the ground and the run is over.
Goal
Pass as many towers as you can. Every gap is worth 1 point. Your best score is saved in this browser, so each run is a chance to beat it.
Controls
- Press Space, the Up arrow or W, click the game, or tap the screen to flap. The first flap starts the run.
- Each flap gives Pip a quick push upward. Between flaps, Pip falls faster and faster.
- Tap a little, often, to stay level. Wait a moment to drop down to a lower gap.
- Press P or Esc, or use the Pause button, to stop the game. It also pauses when you switch tabs. Flap again to go on.
Getting harder
The first towers are slow and the gaps are wide. With every point, the world moves a little faster and the gaps get a little smaller. Both stop changing after a while, so the game never becomes impossible. A new gap is never too far above or below the last one, so every course can be flown.
Medals
Reach 10 points for a bronze medal, 25 for silver, 50 for gold and 100 for platinum. Your medal shows in the bar above the game and on the final screen.
End of the run
The run ends when Pip hits a tower or the ground. You see your score, your best score and any medal you earned. Press Space or Play again to fly once more. Like quick games? Try Snake or Desert Runner.
Strategy tips
- Find a rhythm. Steady, even taps keep Pip at one height. Most crashes come from tapping in a panic.
- Aim for the middle of the gap. The centre leaves room for a flap that is a bit too early or too late.
- Look one tower ahead. As soon as you are inside a gap, check where the next one is and start to rise or fall early.
- Fall on purpose. To reach a low gap, stop tapping and let Pip drop, then tap once to catch the fall just before the gap.
- Do not hug the top. A flap near the top of a gap can carry you into the tower above. Stay a little low and flap later.
