How to play Mini Golf

Mini Golf is a calm putting game for one player. Each hole is a small green with walls around it. Some holes add slopes, sand, water, bumpers, spinning crosses or sliding gates. There are two courses of nine holes: Green Meadow (holes 1–9) and the harder Neon Canyon (holes 10–18).

Goal

Get the ball into the cup with as few strokes as you can. Each hole has a par, the number of strokes a good player needs. Your scorecard shows every hole and your total for the course.

Putting

  1. Press anywhere on the green and drag away from where you want to hit, like pulling back a slingshot.
  2. An arrow shows the direction, and the ring around the ball shows the power. Drag further for a harder putt.
  3. Let go to putt. To cancel, drag back to where you started.
  4. On a keyboard, turn the aim with the left and right arrows, change the power with up and down (hold Shift for fine steps), and press Space to putt. The buttons under the green do the same.

What is on the green

  • Walls bounce the ball. Use them for bank shots.
  • Slopes are marked with arrows. They push the ball downhill.
  • Sand slows the ball down a lot.
  • Water costs one penalty stroke, and the ball goes back to where you hit it from.
  • Bumpers, spinning crosses and sliding gates knock the ball away. Time your putt.

End of a hole and the course

A ball that rolls too fast can skip over the cup, so a gentle putt is best near the hole. The most strokes on one hole is 8; after that the ball is picked up. After the ninth hole you see your total against par. Your best total and your best score on each hole are saved in this browser, and a course in progress is saved after each hole. Strategy tips

  • Lag the long putts. On a long hole, aim to stop close to the cup instead of forcing it in. Two easy putts beat three hard ones.
  • Mirror the bank shot. To bounce off a wall, picture the cup reflected on the other side of the wall and aim at that reflection.
  • Watch the timing. Spinning crosses and sliding gates move at a steady pace. Watch one full turn, then putt when the gap is coming to you.
  • Respect the slopes. Hit harder going uphill and aim a little uphill when you cross a slope sideways.
  • Play safe around water. A penalty costs a stroke and your position. Going around the pond is often faster in the end.

Mini Golf FAQ

How many holes are there?

There are 18 original holes in two courses of nine: Green Meadow for a gentle round and Neon Canyon with more moving parts. Pick the course in the menu above the green.

Why did my ball roll over the hole?

If the ball is moving too fast, it skips over the cup. Hit softer when you are close; a slow ball near the edge drops in.

What happens if the ball lands in the water?

You add one penalty stroke and the ball goes back to the spot of your last putt.

Is my score saved?

Yes. The scorecard shows your best total and your best score on each hole, saved in this browser. If you leave in the middle of a course, you continue from the next hole.
