How to play Jewel Match

Jewel Match is a match-3 puzzle for one player. The board is an 8×8 grid full of sparkling jewels in six colours and shapes. Swap two jewels that sit next to each other to line up three or more of the same kind. Matched jewels shatter, the jewels above fall down, and new ones drop in from the top.

Goal

In Levels mode, reach the target score before you run out of moves. The bar above the board shows how close you are. Each level asks for a higher score. In Timed mode, score as many points as you can in 90 seconds.

Making a move

  1. Swipe a jewel towards a neighbour, drag it with the mouse, or click one jewel and then a jewel next to it (not diagonal).
  2. The swap only counts if it makes a line of three or more. Otherwise the jewels slide back.
  3. Falling jewels can make new lines. These cascades score more with every step.
  4. With a keyboard, move between jewels with the arrow keys, press Enter or Space to pick one, then press an arrow key to swap it in that direction. Press H for a hint.

Special jewels

  • Line jewel: match four in a row. When it is matched, it clears its whole row (or column, shown by its stripes).
  • Bomb jewel: match in an L or T shape. It blasts the 3×3 square around it.
  • Colour bomb: match five in a row. Swap it with any jewel to clear every jewel of that colour.
  • Swap two special jewels together for a bigger blast, like a cross, a huge bomb or a full board clear.

End of the game

If you sit still for a few seconds, two jewels wiggle to show a possible move. If no move is left, the board shuffles itself. A level ends when you reach the target (moves left give bonus points) or when your moves run out. A timed game ends when the clock hits zero. Your progress and best timed score are saved in this browser. Want another colourful puzzle? Try Bubble Shooter.

Strategy tips

  • Work near the bottom. Matches low on the board move more jewels and start more cascades.
  • Build special jewels. Look for four or five in a row and for L shapes before you take an easy three.
  • Combine specials. Two special jewels swapped together clear far more than each one alone.
  • Save the colour bomb. Use it on the colour that covers most of the board, or swap it with another special jewel.
  • Count your moves. In Levels mode, every move left over gives bonus points when you reach the target.

Jewel Match FAQ

Is this like Bejeweled or Candy Crush?

Yes, it is a match-3 game in the same style as Bejeweled and Candy Crush, with its own jewels, levels and timed mode.

How do I make a colour bomb?

Line up five jewels of the same kind in a straight row or column. Then swap the colour bomb with any jewel to clear that whole colour.

What happens if there is no move left?

The game shows a short message and shuffles the jewels until at least one move is possible. Your score and moves are kept.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. The board is saved after every move, the highest level you reached is unlocked in the Level menu, and your best timed score is kept in this browser.
